Shibori Silk Velvet Scarf

A silk velvet scarf which has been carefully hand prepared and dyed in indigo, creating a beautiful designs in blue and white.

Variations in patterns and indigo tones are produced by the Japanese Maki-age and rope core -Shin Ire, which is a labour intensive process involving binding small areas with string before wrapping and pleating the velvet tightly around rope. The velvet is then dipped repeatadly in an indigo vat.

Every scarf is unique and showcases the diversity and beauty of Japanese Shibori.
